The Colleges A Level pass rate of 99.2% (grades A-E) continues to be significantly higher than the national average (97.5 %)..

55.0% of the 1441 entries by Worcester Sixth Form College students resulted in A or B grades, compared to 52.0% nationally.

The overall pass rate at the College at AS has been 99.2%, compared to a national figure of 88.1%.

For many years, the Colleges students have achieved positive "Value Added" - that is students have achieved significantly better results than might be predicted based on their GCSE grades at the start of their A Level courses. Last year, the College was second in the county for Value Added and this years results are significantly up on last year.

Abbie Gillgan

The River School

I have had a real interest in PE since studying it to GCSE level at high school and wanted to carry it on to a higher level and had heard that Worcester Sixth Form College had a good reputation. I am interested in both the sport and science aspects of the course. I've enjoyed meeting people with similar interests to me. It has also given me the chance to represent the College at Netball, Basketball, Football and Cross-Country at a much higher level than I had done at school. I am planning to go to Exeter University to read Sport and Exercise Sciences, but plan to take a year out after finishing College to go travelling and, I hope, to teach sports in schools in Uganda. |
