Governance Information

The Governing Body comprises of seventeen governors from a wide variety of professional, business and community organisation backgrounds including staff and student governors.

The Governing Body is collectively responsible for determining the College's educational character, defining its future strategy and ensuring the proper application of its funds. We would like to build a database of people interested in becoming governors when vacancies arise - if you are interested we would like to hear from you.

The role of a governor is voluntary and involves attendance at approximately four Governing Body meetings a year plus attendance at one or two Committees. Meetings of the Governing Body and its committees are held each term in the evenings with occasional daytime attendance at College events.

Blessed Edward Oldcorne Catholic College

World Development is one of those subjects that really does combine well with most courses. It includes aspects of Sociology, Politics, Economics and Geography. So I would recommend this course to anyone interested in or taking any of those subjects. I took it alongside Sociology and found that both these courses complement each other very well. A great point about World Development is that it is always different and interesting. It seems to constantly change your perspective on the world and its past, present and future. |
