Cross-College Debating Success

Yesterday afternoon, 60 students joined a cross-College debate with the motion This House Would Ban Private Schools.

Students from Worcester Sixth Form College, Hereford Sixth Form College and King Edward VI College took part in a 3 v 3 debate with Emily Williams (Chair of the WSFC Debating Society) awarded the ‘Tony Blair Award for Soundbites’, Rebeka Wittich (WSFC) the ‘David Cameron Award for Rebuttal’ and Dan Moody (WSFC) the ‘Barack Obama Award For Structure’. Ethan Terry (KEDST) and Arianwen Fox-James (HSFC) shared the ‘Nick Clegg Award’ for responding excellently to questions posed by the audience with Lily Derrick (KEDST) winning Speaker of the Day.

The Opposition won the debate in an incredibly close affair that was decided after 30 minutes of intense and hard hitting questions. Well done to all involved.
