Journalism Internship
As a journalism intern, you will learn about the roles and responsibilities of a journalist
and hear from guest speakers currently working for organisations such as the BBC and
Reach Media. You will get the opportunity to write and film articles, reviews, blogs and
opinion pieces.
You will be encouraged to pursue your own interests and create your own individual
voice. All students will also be encouraged to take the role of editor at times. By the
end of the year, you should have a portfolio of your journalism to demonstrate your
skills. You will also get the chance to enter the BBC Young Reporter of the Year
competition in the 16-18 category.
To join the journalism internship you will need to commit to a 55 minute meeting each week, as well as doing some writing, filming or recording in your own time.
