Worcester Sixth Form College’s ‘LINK’ scheme aims to help students to meet new friends and form social links with their peers resulting in greater confidence and self-esteem.
LINK is available to all new and existing students and it may be of particular interest to those students who may have recently moved into the area, whose friendship groups are studying elsewhere, who have come to College from a small high school or if they have been home-educated.
Students are invited to express their interest to join LINK and will be asked to complete a short questionnaire which will assist with matching them with other students based on mutual interests, subject similarities and/or personal circumstances. Staff and parents can also make referrals if they believe that LINK could be valuable.
LINK is led by Rebekah Dib who is a Pastoral Tutor at the College. To register their interest students can email rebekah.dib@wsfc.ac.uk, speak to their tutor or register via Impact on the College Portal.
What students say about LINK
'LINK was a really good way to meet new people that had the same or has similar interests as me. It has really helped me with advancing my communication and social skills.'
‘Thank you for helping me with feeling more confident in the college. Me and my LINK partner got along well and have traded numbers as we have found out we go on the same bus and have the same breaks. Thank you again.’
‘Link has helped me to approach new students and meet new people; being nervous and shy means that I can't approach others easily.’
