Meet the Governors

The Governing Body comprises of seventeen governors from a wide variety of professional, business and community organisation backgrounds including staff and student governors.The Governing Body is collectively responsible for determining the College's educational character, defining its future strategy and ensuring the proper application of its funds. We would like to build a database of people interested in becoming governors when vacancies arise - if you are interested we would like to hear from you.The role of a governor is voluntary and involves attendance at approximately four Governing Body meetings a year plus attendance at one or two Committees. Meetings of the Governing Body and its committees are held each term in the evenings with occasional daytime attendance at College events.If you are interested in becoming a governor we would like to hear from you. Toby Hooper

Toby has recently retired as a Circuit Judge of the Crown, County and Family Courts in Worcester and Hereford and previously practiced as a barrister, latterly as a QC. Toby joined the Governing Body in 2016 and is a member of the Resources Committee.

Sheila Fallon

Sheila is the Taught Programmes Team Manager at the University of Birmingham. Sheila joined the Governing Body as a Parent Governor in 2015 and is a member of the Quality Committee.

Sheena-Payne-Lunn

Sheena Payne-Lunn

Sheena is the Historic Environment Record Officer at Worcester City Council and Chair of the Council for British Archaeology West Midlands. She was appointed as Parent Governor in 2017 and is a member of the Quality Committee.

Sean-Devlin

Sean Devlin

Sean, former Principal of Blessed Edward Oldcorne Catholic College, joined the Governing Body in 2017 and is a member of the Quality Committee.

Phill-Douce

Phill Douce

Phil, a former Project Manager, is the Chairman of Worcester Civic society and a Trustee and Vice Chair of Civic Voice the national body for Civic Societies in England. Phil joined the Governing Body in 2017 and is a member of the Resources Committee.

Paul-Cumming

Paul Cumming

Paul is the Managing Director of Woodbury Accounting Limited. He joined the Governing Body in 2017 and is a member of the Audit Committee.

Ms-Sarah-Turner

Ms Sarah Turner

A member of the Association of University Administrators, Sarah Turner is the Quality Assurance and Enhancement Manager at the University of Birmingham. Sarah has been a co-opted member of the Quality Committee since 2011.

Ms Gill Slater – Chair of the Governing Body

A member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, Gill is the Personnel Officer at the University of Worcester. Gill joined the Governing body in 2010 and is a member of the Resources Committee.

Mrs Deborah Tiffany – Vice-Chair of the Governing Body

A Company Secretary, Deborah is a self-employed Compliance Consultant (Financial Services). Deborah joined the Governing Body in 2008 and is a member of the Quality Committee.

Matthew Adams

Matthew is an Architect at DJD Architects in Worcester. He joined the Governing Body in 2017 and is a member of the Resources Committee.

Emily-Furniss

Emily Furniss

Emily is a second year student studying a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport. She was appointed as a Student Governor in December 2017 and is a member of the Quality Committee. Emily is also the Chair of the College’s Student Council.

The College Principal, appointed in 2018, is an ex officio member of the Governing body.

Angela Davis

Angela is the CSR/PR Officer at Postcode Anywhere, an expanding technology company, based in Worcester. Angela joined the Governing Body in 2015 and is a member of the Resources Committee.

Alex Daw

A Staff Governor, Alex is a teacher in the Visual and Performing Arts department. Alex was appointed to the Governing Body in 2016 and is a member of the Quality Committee.
