Classical Civilisation visit to the Ashmolean Museum

Year 13 Classical Civilisation A Level students visited the Ashmolean museum for a guided tour and artefact handling session. Students were excited to find many of the statues and artefacts on the Classics spec which provided them with a totally different way of experiencing archaeology and material culture. The artefact handling session was a real highlight with the opportunity to touch and study ancient Greek everyday objects, some 3000 years old, close up.
