Linguistics Olympiad Success

Hannah Alfrick

Congratulations to four of our English and Modern Foreign Language A Level students who participated in the UK Linguistics Olympiad achieving awards.

Hannah Alfrink (pictured) received Gold placing her in the top 5% nationally – a tremendous achievement. Holly Riley and Beth Hallam were awarded Silver placing them in the top 20% and Ella Westwood was awarded Bronze (top 40% nationally).

The Linguistics Olympiad is a challenging competition which requires participants to solve linguistic data problems. Only 14% of the entrants come from state schools which makes the achievements of our students even more notable.
