Student continues success in Equestrian Endurance Sport!

Congratulations to first year student, Charlie Turley, who has been promoted to Advanced Level in Equestrian Endurance riding after being named Top Young Rider at the Golden Horseshoe and Red Dragon events in 2019 successfully completing a total of 350km.

Charlie and her horse Safiya only began endurance riding in 2018 as a novice participating in long-distance races of between 40-160km per day and finished 5th in the 2018 Nation Novice Championship. She has also been part on the Welsh Home International team since 2018.

Charlie’s ultimate goal is to ride for Team GB on the young rider squad. Over the next few years she and Safiya will work on their physical and mental strength and endurance to be able to complete in even longer events.

Charlie, who was formerly a student at Queen Elizabeth Humanities College, is successfully fitting in training around her studies in A Level Business, Photography and Sociology.

Charlie has been given an award from the College’s Support for Excellence Scheme as a contribution to the costs associated with participating in future competitions. We look forward to celebrating her future successes!
