Worcester Sixth Form College students excel in Chemistry Olympiad

Congratulations to 24 of our second year Chemistry students who were awarded certificates in the national Chemistry Olympiad.

The students were awarded 1 gold, 10 silver and 13 bronze certificates with significantly more achieving silver and bronze than nationally. The two hour exam was challenging with difficult questioning on complex topics such as organic Chemistry.

Elenna Mapp, teacher of Chemistry, said: “I am so proud of all of the students who voluntarily took part in the Chemistry Olympiad. This is the first time we have taken part so I am particularly pleased with the 24 certificates awarded to our students”.

The College offers a range of extension to our scientists including the Science and Engineering Academy and the Junior Internship Programme.
