WSFC student apprenticeship with DRPG

Congratulations to Ruan Sarris who has been accepted onto a Level 4 Digital Marketing Apprenticeship with DRPG, an international creative communications group based in Hartlebury.

Ruan is currently sitting his A Level exams in Business Studies, English Language and German as well as completing an IT BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate and will take up the place later in the summer. The application process for the Higher Apprenticeship route is extremely competitive and his success is testament to Ruan’s hard work and commitment.

Ruan said: “I was presented with the opportunity to complete a week’s work experience with the Creative Communications Department at DRPG last year and I massively enjoyed and benefitted from this. Subsequently, I was kindly invited back by the Head of Learning & Development for further work experience weeks, which I did during College half term breaks. It was at the end of this period that the Head of Learning and Development said he would keep in contact with me if a job role or apprenticeship opportunity presented itself within the Creative Communications Department.” He added: “I was delighted when I was offered the job role of Junior Creative in the Creative Communications Department, to be studying a Level 4 Digital Marketing Apprenticeship.”

Ruan hopes to develop his career within DRPG and progress through, over time, to degree level. His long-term goal is to become a Creative Director at the company.

Ed Senior, Principal, said: “Ruan is a highly impressive young man and I am proud of his achievements. He has demonstrated great maturity, drive and initiative in deciding on his career aims and then working hard to achieve them. I am proud of his achievements and of the high academic standards he has set at College. I am pleased that Worcester Sixth Form College has an excellent team of careers and work experience advisers who support our students in gaining work experience and placements which prepare them for future success whether this is at university, on an apprenticeship or in employment. I wish Ruan every success for the future.”
